I'm getting all my coupons lined up for another run this holiday season. Hopefully the lens of choice is not the because they've hit used market saturation now and the local price is way down. I personally don't see the value in this bundle. It should go for less. It probably will go for less. Heretofore, Nikon has only officially bundled the D with the mm. The VRII has decent optics but is extremely lightweight in build and doesn't feel robust.

Tom DePuy a regular here. I would not hesitate on buying the from Costco Bought my first dslr from costco in D80 great company and their product ship direct from Nikon no worries.

Costco is not Walmart, they do not try to force manufacturers to make mainstream products cheaper by removing quality or functionality. Additionally, there is no way that Nikon would agree to something like that anyway, it could severely damage their reputation for quality. Costco makes its money by buying containers full of product at a time thereby getting a good discount, and they are happy with smaller profit margins too.
